Recognised as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and hailed a new town in the 1960s, Telford combines the best of old and new giving residents a high quality of life and attracting millions of visitors per year.
In the last two years over £800m of investment has seen every secondary school in the town rebuilt or extensively remodelled, the town centre revitalised with the Southwater development and improved infrastructure providing direct transport links to major cities across the UK including London. Further investment and regeneration is planned for Telford Shopping Centre and new investment and employment opportunities are being realised including at the new MOD Donnington Fulfilment Centre and through companies linked with the expansion at the new Jaguar Land Rover Plant.
While maintaining the reputation as a town of a ‘million trees’, the town boasts one of the largest town parks in the country, an attraction that has recently undergone a major transformation with a new Visitor Centre, play areas, ropes course and mini golf.
